What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as the choices you have made. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy.
How we use cookies on this site
This website uses a small number of cookies. We do not currently run any analytics, advertising or social media tracking on this site. If we add any in future, they will be listed here and will only run where you have agreed to them through our cookie banner.
Strictly necessary
These cookies are needed for the site to work and are set whatever your preferences. They do not identify you personally.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie consent cookie | CookieAdmin (this site) | Remembers the choices you made in the cookie banner so you are not asked on every page | Up to 12 months |
| Form session and anti-spam tokens | Everest Forms (this site) | Lets the enquiry form submit correctly and helps block automated spam submissions | Session, or a short period after submission |
| WordPress session and login cookies | WordPress (this site) | Only set for members of staff who log in to manage the website. They are not set for ordinary visitors | Session, or up to 14 days when “remember me” is used |
| Security and spam protection | Akismet and our hosting provider | Helps detect spam submissions and protects the site against abuse | Varies, typically up to 30 days |
Analytics
None at present. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity or any similar tool on this site.
Marketing and advertising
None at present. We do not run advertising or remarketing tags on this site.
Third party content
Some content on this site is loaded from other companies. When your browser requests that content, the company providing it receives your IP address and basic technical information about your device, and may set its own cookies.
- Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google’s font service. Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Trustindex — our customer reviews are displayed using the Trustindex widget, which loads from Trustindex’s own servers and shows reviews published on Google.
We have no control over cookies set by these companies. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply.
Changing your choices
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the Customize button in the cookie banner, or the cookie settings button that stays in the bottom corner of every page.
You can also control cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them individually or in full, and block them from particular sites. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working, including the enquiry form.
Guidance for the main browsers is published in each browser’s own help pages, and the Information Commissioner’s Office publishes general guidance about cookies at ico.org.uk.
